Skutt classic pottery wheel, red

Equipment that’s a joy to work with

You’ll be working with one of our ten Skutt Classic 1 HP wheels with a 14” head. In addition, the studio is equipped with a slab roller, two full-size Giffin Grips, extruder, diamond grinding wheel disc, and three reliable Skutt Kilns. Member throwing areas are designated during class times.

Clay & glaze picks for the inspired potter

The studio provides three clay bodies: Rocky Mountain BMX, Flagstone, & Speckled Brown Trout. Each clay body provided is recycled by Kinship.

We have twelve dipping glazes that compliment each other well in various combinations. AMACO black, white, red, yellow and blue underglazes are included as well. New glazes will be added throughout 2025.

A coffee station with a pour-over rig and Keurig is available for all members.

A seamless digital experience allows you to easily manage your membership, stay updated with the latest studio news, and check the real-time kiln firing status. Accessing the studio is as simple as a tap on your phone, letting you into the building without the hassle of codes, fobs, or keys.

What cone do your kilns fire to?

We fire bisque to 04 and glaze to cone 6.

How much clay can I use if it’s included?

Your clay use is unlimited, but we encourage mindfulness to reduce waste and keep our studio sustainable.

Your glaze use is unlimited, but we encourage mindfulness to reduce waste and keep our studio sustainable.

What is your cancellation policy?

You can cancel your membership at anytime with a 30 day notice. Just talk to Anna or Carly, or email mud@kinshipdenver.com and let us know what you need.

Can I pause my membership if I need to take a break?

Unfortunately, due to high demand, we cannot pause memberships.

Can I bring my own clay and/or glaze?

Yes! As long as it is a mid-fire clay and glaze.

Are monthly membership workshops guaranteed?

Monthly workshops for members will be on a first come first serve basis.

What hours can I access the studio?

Access hours to the studio are from 6am - midnight.

Does the studio have a place to keep lunch for members?

Yes! We have a fridge/freezer as well as a microwave.

Do you allow production potters?

Depending on circumstances, the answer is usually yes. Please let us know during your membership tour if you are a production potter.

Do I need experience to become a member?

Our main membership is for intermediate+ potters. If you’re a beginner and want to explore membership, please visit the beginner membership page.
